Sugar is produced from sugar cane or sugar beets using a series. Juice is extracted from the sugar cane or beet using mills or diffusers and further treated and then boiled to remove impurities. Once the juice is concentrated into a syrup by evaporation sugar crystals form from the syrup and the crystals are separated and dried.
A cogeneration plant, also known as a combined heat and power (CHP) plant, generates electricity and heat from a single energy source. Satish Sugars Ltd has installed 31 MW Cogeneration plant and BSPL subsidiary of Satish Sugars Ltd. has also a unit setup with capacity of 38.3 MW, which generates Electrical Energy and usable heat for future growth. Cogeneration can notably reduce carbon emissions and energy costs.
The distillery unit, an ambitious project of the company, was commissioned and implemented in a record time. The project was flagged o on July 20, 2007 with a ground breaking ceremony and was completed on January 20, 2008. With capacity of 90 KLPD the plant manufactures excellent quality ENA and ethanol. Management has taken up the project to installation a new 400 KLPD distillery unit and to increase the existing unit capacity to 120 KLPD in the coming years to produce excellent quality of ethanol from sugar cane and grain based.
