In 2007, the first national-level bodybuilding contest was organized at the Shri Maharshi Valmiki Stadium in Gokak, marking a significant milestone in promoting fitness and bodybuilding in the region. Since 2013, the contest has been held at the Sardar High School Grounds in Belagavi, offering a larger platform for participants from across the nation.
The contest has expanded over the years, with new categories introduced to ensure inclusivity and diversity. In 2013, a national-level bodybuilding contest specifically for differently abled individuals was launched, offering a unique opportunity for all to showcase their strength and determination. In 2015, a contest for women bodybuilders was also introduced, further enriching the event and encouraging female participation in the sport.
